Fabio Baldato, 39 anni, ha vinto la prima tappa del Giro dell'Austria. Nella frazione di 130,7 km con partenza e arrivo a Mayrhofen, il corridore della Lampre ha preceduto il tedesco Gerald Ciolek e l'altro italiano Elia Rigotto.

Austria: Ciolek mette tutti in fila

Gerald Ciolek, giovane velocista della T-Mobile, si conferma nella "sua" Salisburgo, dove nel settembre scorso aveva vinto, con una prova maiuscola ma tra le polemiche, il titolo mondiale under23 essendo professionista. Il tedesco ha messo in fila Steffen Radochla (Team Wiesenhof - Felt) e il compagno di squadra Thomas Ziegler. Al quarto posto Elia Rigotto (Team Milram).

Savoldelli torna in corsa al Giro dell'Austria

1075 Km da percorrere in otto tappe dal 6 al 13 luglio, è il programma che offre il Giro d’Austria, dove a tenere alto il nome del Team LPR BALLAN di Fabio Bordonali, saranno Luca Celli, Giairo Ermeti, Roberto Ferrari, Sergio Marinangeli, Cristiano Salerno, Ruslan Pidgornyy (nuovo Campione Ucraino), Paolo Savoldelli e Jure Golcer che dopo la vittoria del Tour di Slovenia vuole confermare l’ottimo stato di forma, migliorando il piazzamento ottenuto nella edizione 2007 dove è salito sul terzo gradino del podio. A guidare i portacolori grigio-verde sulle strade austriache saranno i direttori sportivi Giovanni Fidanza e Marco Tabai.
Partiamo con l'intenzione di metterci in mostra, dare spettacolo e raggiungere il successo – sottolineano i DS – siamo convinti di avere un’ottima formazione e le carte in regola per ambire al massimo risultato. Speriamo di lasciare il segno anche in Austria.

Fatta la Lampre per il Giro dell'Austria

Bindi, Bossoni, Fornaciari, Longo, Napolitano, Pelanek e Santambrogio: questi i sette atleti del Team Lampre che prenderanno parte al Giro d'Austria (6-13 luglio).
Lo staff del team blu-fucsia sarà composto dai ds Fabrizio Bontempi e Vicino, dal dottor Beltemacchi, dai massaggiatori Romagnoli, Semenzato e Rubino e dai meccanici Biron e Cambiè.
"Il percorso del Giro d'Austria è impegnativo, i nostri corridori dovranno impegnarsi al massimo per vedere valorizzate le loro qualità - ha spiegato Fabrizio Bontempi - Napolitano ha già vinto in volata due anni fa qui in Austria, può ripetersi; Bindi e Pelanek dovranno inserirsi nelle fughe; Santambrogio proverà a tenere duro in salita, Fornaciari correrà con la consueta esperienza, mentre Bossoni proverà a far valere uno stato di forma crescente, come dimostrato dal 6° posto al Campionato Italiano".

Austria, la prima volta di Simeoni tricolore

Torna di scena il team Ceramica Flaminia - Bossini Docce che da domenica 6 a domenica 13 luglio disputerà il Giro D'Austria. La squadra, diretta da Massimo Podenzana e Pino Petito, sarà composta da: Giampaolo Caruso, Wladimir Duma, Dainius Kairelis, Leonardo Giordani, Mikhaylo Khalilov, Tomasz Marczynski, Luigi Sestili e Filippo Simeoni, il neo campione italiano che in settimana ha dovuto far fronte ad un vero e proprio assalto mediatico: "E' stato faticosissimo ma terribilmente piacevole far fronte a tante richieste - ha raccontato Simeoni - sono felice per me, la squadra e il ciclismo delle mie zone. Il mio successo ha favorito un notevole entusiasmo fra tutti gli sportivi".
Intanto ieri sera c'è stata grande festa a Sezze, in provincia di Latina, con migliaia di tifosi, il neo campione, alcuni compagni di squadra, il direttore sportivo Pino Petito e il team manager Roberto Marrone: "Il successo di Simeoni è stato travolgente ma per noi la maglia tricolore non è un traguardo ma lo stimolo per rafforzare il nostro progetto sportivo che prosegue nella direzione indicata ad inizio d'anno. La nostra è la forza del gruppo e un ideale che ci sostiene sempre: Nothing is impossible!".

Sarà pur sempre il Giro d'Austria, non sarà né il Tour de France né tantomeno una classica del nord, ma vincere non è mai facile e finalmente il campione del mondo Paolo Bettini è riuscito a rompere il ghiaccio vincendo la prima tappa del Giro d'Austria (Chiusa-Dobbiaco di 171 km), precedendo allo sprint l'austriaco Gerrit Glomser, e i nostri Davide Rebellin e GianPaolo Caruso. Logicamente la maglia gialla di leader è sulle spalle del campione del mondo.
